A Holiday in the Most Livable City in the World - Melbourne

Australia spoils for choice; even when it comes to selecting your port of entry into the country. Well, it did not for me!!

Melbourne has recently been awarded as the most liveable city in the world for 2011. And I decided to book flights to Melbourne for a city-break holiday, ignoring close contender Sydney. A good availability of tickets on cheap flights to Melbourne was an equally important factor!

My travel on connecting flights to Melbourne with British Airways and Thai Airways proved pretty rewarding for the wonderful in-flight service (Thai hospitality in the air was something to die for). The 30 minutes drive from Melbourne airport (or Tullamarine Airport) to my hotel in central Melbourne clearly explained why the city is the most liveable city in the world.

The reliable and efficient transportation facilities in the city make Melbourne one of the most 'comfortable to explore' cities. The bus tours and helicopter tours are great ways to travel down under and to enjoy a trip to all the major attractions.

It was a good idea to have booked my cheap flights to Melbourne in March. The Melbourne Food and Wine festival was every bit worth the money spent on my flight tickets and hotel.

The city’s attractions did cause the problem of plenty for me though. The Penguin Parade at Phillip Island, Melbourne Museum, Eureka Skydeck 88, the legendary Melbourne Cricket Ground, Old Melbourne Gaol, National Gallery of Victoria International, and the Royal Botanic Gardens make any Melbourne holiday unforgettable. They made mine!! Just make sure you carry an extra memory card for your digital camera!! was a testament to the after disembarking my flights and at Melbourne and heading to my hotel With a great infrastructure and lifestyle, Melbourne has managed to win the tag of being the most-liveable city in the world in 2011 and thus tempt many to book tickets to travel to this dreamland.

A local at the carnival suggested me to book advance cheap flights to Melbourne in November when the city hosts another vivacious fest, the Wangaratta Jazz Festival that features boundless events and performances by many world-renowned musical artists. Being a music enthusiast, I took his advice and booked cheap flights to Melbourne for November too. Plus, the lure to visit the city again, this time with my family, was quite irresistible.

The two major airports of Melbourne are "Wow". The International airlines such as Qantas Airways and Jetstar Airways land at Melbourne International Airport whereas all the domestic flights head towards the Avalon Airport.
